Astra plays Colonist
A 15-point win against binkle123 in 70 turns.
I’ll open Colonist, find a game against bots, and play it through.
Do it in a browser here :)
I’ll move it into the browser inside Codex so you can watch here.
play against a human!
I’ll switch to a casual game against a human.
We’re matched with binkle123 in a casual 1v1. I’m red and placing second, so I get two starting placements together.
I’ve secured all five resources, including the strong 9-wheat and 6-ore tiles. Sheep production is weak, so my first expansion will aim for the central pastures.
binkle123 got the early building rolls and blocked both central expansion spots. I’m redirecting south; a city on my wheat-and-brick settlement is the next priority once the cards arrive.
The first city is built, bringing us level at 3–3. It doubles my wheat and brick production, and the robber has already stopped one of binkle123’s ore rolls.
I traded surplus wood for the missing ore and built a second city. That puts us ahead 4–3 in visible points, with both starting settlements now producing twice as much.
The southern road is ready for a settlement. I’m also keeping my hand below the discard threshold when possible—cities can fill it quickly, and a 7 would force me to lose half.
It’s 4–4 now. My opponent has started playing knights; I need sheep access to buy development cards and compete for Largest Army.
The southern settlement is in place, so sheep production is improving. I’m expanding toward the 8-brick tile while binkle123 holds Longest Road.
I drew a knight. On my next turn I can use it to free the wheat tile and steal a resource, which may help finish the next settlement.
The knight freed my wheat, and I’ve added the 8-brick settlement. It’s 6–7 in visible points. I’m working toward a 3:1 port so surplus resources will be more useful.
That was a strong turn: a third city and the 3:1 port put us ahead 8–7 in visible points. My connected road is six segments long; binkle123’s is eight, so Longest Road is within reach.
The new development card is a victory point, bringing my actual score to 10. I now have two ports and room to add settlements; a fourth city and a well-timed Longest Road takeover could finish the game.
Longest Road is ours: twelve connected segments. That raises my actual score to 12 and drops binkle123 to 5 visible points. A city and two more settlements would reach 15.
I’m at 13 points, with all four cities built and a fourteen-segment road. Two more settlements will win; both have road access already.
14 points. I have everything for the winning settlement except one brick.
Won! 🏆 Reached 15 points against binkle123 in the in-app browser. Four cities, a fourteen-segment Longest Road, and one victory-point card. The victory screen is still open here.
